Fitness Instructor (Stretch/Mobility)
We’re looking for a passionate Fitness Instructor to deliver and develop engaging workouts and stretching and mobility classes for our members, based within our modern and well-equipped sports centre.

- Lead and instruct motivating and inclusive fitness classes and Stretching classes for participants of all abilities
- Plan and implement safe, effective, and enjoyable sessions
- Demonstrate exercises clearly, with adaptations to suit individual needs
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and professional environment
- Work closely with the Sports Centre team to support class delivery and scheduling
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 Fitness Qualification
- Exercise to Music
- Experience delivering group fitness and Stretching style classes.
- Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and safe exercise practice
- A confident, friendly, and approachable manner

OVERALL PURPOSE
Canford Sports Centre is a purpose built sports facility, comprising a fully equipped fitness suite, large sports hall, dance/aerobic studio and new 25m indoor swimming pool. In addition, the Centre can also boast extensive outdoor facilities such as tennis courts, netball courts, hockey and football pitches.
The Sports Centre is used to support the school’s sporting programme, normally between the hours of 1400 – 1800 during term-time. At all other times the facilities are available for use by the general public, either on a membership basis or pay as you go, for clubs, groups and some voluntary organisations.
The purpose of a Fitness / Pilates Instructor is to lead, instruct, and motivate individuals to improve their physical health, strength, flexibility, and overall wellbeing through structured fitness and Pilates-based exercise. The role involves planning, choreographing, and delivering safe and effective group and individual sessions, while providing guidance, support, and encouragement to participants.
The instructor is responsible for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment at all times, offering appropriate modifications and advice based on individual needs and abilities. They may also be required to set up, maintain, and tidy equipment and facilities, as well as support sports centre members with advice and instruction related to fitness activities and programmes.
DUTIES
- Plan, organise, and deliver safe, effective, and engaging group fitness and stretch classes for Sports Centre members.
- Demonstrate exercises clearly and provide guidance to ensure participants exercise correctly and safely.
- Motivate and support members of all abilities, offering appropriate adaptations where required.
- Ensure the health and safety of all participants, with risk assessments in place and followed during all classes.
- Set up, organise, and maintain fitness equipment, ensuring it is safe, clean, and stored correctly after use.
- Liaise with and report to the Sports Centre Manager and their team regarding fitness classes, schedules, and any issues arising.

- Experience of delivering group fitness classes (E)
- Experience of delivering a variety of classes (E)
- Good Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology (E)
- Good Knowledge of the class timetable and programming (E)
- To pre plan and motivate members through group exercise classes (E)
- To deliver a safe and effective class (E)
