Salary: £20-£25 per hour, dependant on qualifications and experience

Pension Scheme: Eligible to job the Support Staff or Teacher Pension Scheme dependent on Qualifications

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays (adjusted pro rata to reflect part time working), as this role is term time only holiday is paid within annual salary and is to be taken in Dumpton School holidays only

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and inspiring teacher and/or coach to join our thriving Sports Department.

 

The successful candidate will be passionate about developing children of all abilities through sport and will play a key role in delivering high-quality coaching across hockey and a range of major sports. They will lead engaging training sessions, support fixtures, and help promote a positive sporting culture built on teamwork, resilience and enjoyment.

 

We are looking for someone with strong teaching and/or coaching experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire young people both on and off the field. Experience working with Prep-age children is essential.

BACKGROUND 

Dumpton School is a Prep School in the heart of Dorset near the thriving market town of Wimborne, which offers an outstanding education to children aged 2 to 13 years old. PURPOSE:         

Sport is a big part of life at Dumpton. We are looking for an excellent teacher and/or coach to effectively deliver sports coaching during our Games, PE lessons and fixtures across the Prep School, and across a range of sports. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • To be an inspirational,enthusiasticand nurturing teacher and/or coach, helping children of all ages and abilities enjoysport. 
  • To provideappropriate Gamescoaching and teaching forPrep agepupils within the school acrossa number ofourmajorsportsacross the year(e.g.Hockey, Football, Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, Athletics and Swimming) 
  • To lead ontraining sessions, planning practicesto ensure engaging sessions for pupils of allabilities, andsupporting staff development whereappropriate.   
  • To coach and refereefixtures 
  • To select teams for matches and write match reports following fixtures.   
  • To attend staff meetings and seek continual professional development in all matters affecting work.   
  • To actively promote theBe Kind and Aim High valuesand vision of the school.   
  • To be aware of and support equal opportunities for all pupils.   
  • To establish constructive relationships and communication withparents 
  • Toprovidean emergency capability and administer first aid as and whenrequired.   
  • To assistwith the organisation,preparationand supervisionoffixtures,tournamentsand sporting events.   
  • To promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork,resilienceand pupil development  
  • Any other duties asdeemedappropriate bythe Head for general and specific professional duties.   
  • To workin accordance withDumpton School policies.   
  • To understand Safeguarding Children and report any concerns or observations to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
