Digital Content Specialist

The Conservative Party is looking for a content specialist to join our Digital team based in London.  As a content specialist, you'll be the voice of the Conservative Party across social media. Reporting into the Head of Digital Content, you’ll creating and writing hard hitting, narrative-setting content. Working with the Digital team and people across the Party, you’ll be part of a dynamic team at the forefront of the digital-first revolution.

 

The successful candidate will be able to think on their feet, generate new and innovative ways to engage audiences and cut through the noise online. They will have an adept understanding of social media trends, with an ability to anticipate when discussions online are likely to become major stories. They will be part of the most exciting team working in politics this side of the Atlantic – and their work will touch millions of people every day. They’ll make the most of what is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Create engaging content for our social media channels
  • Help develop a grid of content that helps us tell our story
  • Keeping on top of social media activity to anticipate where the debate will be
  • Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and project briefs.
  • Reporting into the Head of Digital Content and collaborate with teams across the Party to ensure brand consistency.
  • Suggest and implement new ways to develop brand awareness and boost engagement

 

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • A portfolio of work showing proficiency/high level of understanding in maximising social media trends.
  • Strong political acumen.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while being creative.
  • Ability to work with confidential matters discreetly and responsibly.
  • Fluency in English.

 

Desirable

  • Evidence or a portfolio of work showing proficiency in video and photography
  • Experience working within one of the following industries: politics, sports media or entertainment
  • A background in digital communications
  • Media editing skills
