Head of Content

The Conservative Party is hiring a Head of Content to join our fast-paced and ambitious Digital Team. 

You will oversee the Party’s full creative digital output, including social media content, graphics, photography, video, and emerging digital formats. Working at the heart of a rapidly changing communications environment, you will ensure all content is compelling, on-message, and agenda-setting.

Leading a talented team of content creators, you will provide inspiration, strategic direction, and expert guidance while maintaining exceptionally high creative and editorial standards. You will thrive in a dynamic environment and have a strong understanding of digital trends, audience engagement, and political communications.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, creatively driven, and capable of delivering under pressure while ensuring the Party remains ahead of the curve in how digital content is produced and shared. 

You will be part of the most exciting team working in politics this side of the Atlantic – and your work will touch millions of people every day. 

Your responsibilities 

·     Responsible for the day-to-day managing of the Party social media channels, including the Digital Grid, content, and copy.

·     Responsible for overseeing the creation of all content produced by the Digital team.

·     Responsible for generating new and exciting content ideas and delegating their creation within the team.

·     Drafting digital plans for all events and visits the Leader of the Party attends, including deciding which members of the team will attend and what they will be capturing whilst there.

·     Responsible for overseeing the production of all Conservative Party Political / Election Broadcasts.

·     Liaising with other departments across CCHQ.

What we're looking for

Essential Experience

·    Proven experience managing a creative team and delivering high-quality digital content.

·    A strong political awareness with demonstrable experience working in a political environment or campaign setting.

·    An impressive portfolio showcasing at least three years of high-quality creative work.

·    Experience working in roles requiring a high level of discretion, judgement, and trust.

·    Strong understanding of social media platforms, including what content performs effectively across different channels.

Skills & Attributes

·    Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.

·    A natural instinct for identifying exceptional content and the ability to clearly explain what makes it effective.

·    Highly creative, with the ability to develop innovative ideas and respond quickly to opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

·    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

·    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload independently.

·    A personal commitment to the values of the Conservative Party.
