Full Stack Developer

The Conservative Party is currently seeking to hire a Full-Stack Developer. This is an excellent opportunity for a full-stack developer to enhance their exposure to all parts of a world-class, enterprise-grade environment. You will be joining our development team, working in the theatre of political campaigning and helping to deliver digital systems that support our campaign activities nationwide.
 
You should be a solid developer with experience working with large and complex datasets, bringing strong data engineering and analytical skills alongside application and web development expertise. This role is primarily home-based, although you should be able to commute to either our Leeds or London headquarters as and when required for meetings, collaboration sessions, or key project activities. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of exciting new technologies and will play a key role within the development team, helping to design, build and enhance the digital systems that support our campaigning and operational activities.

The key skills you will need are

·        Knowledge of Web Security and Secure application development lifecycle

·        An articulate programmer who understands the importance of delivering to the business needs and has a good communication skill

·        Practical, delivery-focused mindset with attention to code quality

·        A Solid Web Development Skill sets including an understanding of APIs and a proven experience in building modern user interfaces with Typescript, Angular, Vue.js, React or similar

·        Commercial experience with C#/.NET development, with a good understanding software design patterns and architectural design principles

·        Worked with high-volume transactional queries within SQL Server, using T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio

·        Contribute to resolving the complexities inherent in large-scale systems and extensive datasets.

     While not essential, experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous. We do not expect candidates to possess all of these skills, but knowledge or exposure to one or more would be beneficial.

·        Good UX designer with natural style to produce strong designs that are usable and interactive

·        Mobile Development and deployment

·        Understanding of testing and playwright scripts

·        Understanding of automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment on windows 2025

·        Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

·        A solid background in STEM subjects
