Job Purpose
The role will be working as part of a productive, high performing team to provide full support to the consultants. The role will need to offer the most efficient, professional and effective client service possible with a high focus on quality and accuracy. As part of the role, we would be looking for the colleague to act as a mentor to less experienced Paraplanners within the team to help with their development.
We would also be open to this role providing the platform to move into a Consultant role in the future through a structured programme to make this transition.
Key Responsibilities
• To produce clear, high quality technical suitability reports in a timely manner.
• To develop a good understanding of the client’s needs and requirements from review of the
file and identify the key client objectives prior to commencing writing a report or letter.
• Identify key Financial Planning issues before drafting a suitability report and discuss these
with the Consultant to agree before any further action is taken.
• Evaluate and analyse existing plan information.
• To successfully interpret risk analysis and be able to comment on whether both existing
plans and proposed advice is suitable for the client.
• Demonstrate and apply technical knowledge within the suitability report, communicating the
key issues clearly.
• Tailor suitability reports to the client’s needs and requirements in every aspect whilst
following the Crowe FPUK advisory and reporting standards.
• To provide high quality technical, administrative and research support to the Consultant
team.
• Deliver clear and concise communication to the Consultant and Client Support teams as
appropriate in terms of the report delivery and any issues identified.

• Undertake whole of market research as required, including investments, pensions and
protection plans.
• Attend, when requested, client meetings alongside the Consultant.
• To be aware and act upon any compliance, risk and quality issues.
• Maintain the iO database ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with the company
policy and procedures with up to date accurate information together with the correct
labelling of the client documents.
• To keep up to date with current regulation and expand knowledge through own learning.
Additional Responsibilities Expected at Senior Level
• Assist the Head of Paraplanning with checking the quality of other Paraplanners reports
• Check the technical calculations of other Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners
• Provide mentorship for Trainee Paraplanners
• Provide support for complex cashflow
• Provide support for complex calculations
• Support the wider business with projects to improve efficiency and client delivery
• Contribute ideas for the improvement of advice delivery
• Take an active role in promoting Crowe FPUK: this includes, proactively sharing news
about Crowe on linked in, contributing articles for our monthly client newsletter.
• Being a role model for other paraplanners by keeping up CPD
• Being a role model for other members of the team by taking an active part in the Crowe
ED&I initiatives
• Potential to join the Investment Committee
• Potential to get involved with other business operations.
• Take an active part in team meetings encouraging other team members to speak up
• Take an active role at team days which may include presenting to the wider team
• Present cashflow within client meetings when required
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Diploma qualified
• Previous experience in an IFA environment
• Previous experience writing suitability reports
• Knowledge of research tools (Financial Express Analytics, Iress The Exchange)
• Proficient IT skills in core Microsoft Office systems
• Organisation and prioritisation skills
• A good understanding of regulatory requirements
• Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail
• Experience using Intelliflo Office (preferable)
• Experience of cashflow modelling
• A thorough knowledge of Pensions, Investments and Protection products
• A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to perform technical calculations
Desirable:
• Chartered or working towards becoming chartered
• A minimum of three years in a technical Paraplanner role
• Experience mentoring Paraplanners
• Excellent presentation skills
