Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for a dynamic Learning & Development Manager to join our high performing HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to establish an outstanding Learning & Development function that proactively designs, delivers, and evaluates impactful learning interventions aligned with our HR strategy. This includes developing a robust L&D strategy to underpin the achievement of organisational goals, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the current and future provision of effective leadership and management development solutions.  This role will involve hybrid working, including working across sites according to operational needs, and some home working.

The Opportunity

 

As part of the HR team, you will build and lead a dynamic Learning & Development function, shaping the learning culture across multiple sites and organisational functions. You’ll ensure all training initiatives are strategically aligned with the College’s values and the overarching HR strategy and look beyond immediate skills demands to prepare the workforce for future needs and opportunities.  

You’ll manage learning operations, including the LMS and training materials, while balancing delivery with continuous improvement.

You’ll use data and feedback to enhance learning outcomes and team performance. You’ll also represent HR at internal and external events and contribute to strategic projects. About you

 

We’re looking for someone with experience in learning and development, strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, and a data-driven approach to improvement.  You should be confident in presenting and adapting training for varied audiences, with experience designing and delivering engaging in-person and remote sessions using diverse methodologies and tools.

 Knowledge of HR practices and compliance is essential, and experience in establishing a Learning and Development function from the ground up would be highly beneficial.
