Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting an exciting and rare opportunity for a part-time Teacher to join our Digital Media team at Joseph Wright Centre delivering our fantastic Creative Media curriculum. The department offers vocationally based qualifications at level 1, 2 and 3. The Role

Within this role you’ll be pivotal to the success of the Media provision at the College which delivers to students from across the East Midlands. You’ll be joining a dedicated teaching team who are passionate about the subject.

Through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, you will ensure they gain an in depth understanding of topics such as:

  • Media Language; Representation, Industry and Audiences
  • Advertising and Marketing
  • Scriptwriting/ Storytelling
  • Media Ethics
  • News and Current Affairs

About you

You’ll have teaching experience in Media or an industry related area and be a forward thinking and innovative teacher with students at the heart of your work. You’ll have practical expertise that encompasses how media products such as videography, animation, audio production, pre-production (scriptwriting, etc.), video production and media marketing. You’ll be well versed in how to take students through the different stages of production.

You’ll be fully confident with Adobe Creative cloud’s suite of products (focusing on Premiere Pro and Audition – After Effects would be a bonus), and able to demonstrate these skills through highly effective planning, outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
