Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting a Lecturer of Land based for delivery based at our beautiful Broomfield Hall campus. This is a great opportunity to deliver our Access to Higher Education Animal Science Diploma, alongside assisting agriculture apprentices in their portfolio building through the national IfATE standards at Level 2 and Level 3.

The Opportunity

As part of your working day, you may be required to work with a range of individuals and stakeholders, including a challenging student, an employer, a senior manager as well as plan activities with another member of your team. Your days will also involve administrative duties comprising of coordinating appointments and providing learning resources and associated documentation. This role is permanent full time role.

About You

You’ll have proven experience of providing outstanding support for students and you’ll be dedicated to student achievement and quality with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels. You’ll possess up to date knowledge and experience of a broad range of Land based taxonomy, including animal management, health and safety, livestock and general farm worker management, and practical industry skills are essential. It would be great if you have training and assessing experience in Animal Management and/or Agriculture curriculum and you will be required to hold your PGCE (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this.
