Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for 2 Learning Support Assistants to join our Student Experience and Pastoral team at Broomfield Hall to support our students on a 1-1 basis. If you’re motivated, ready to learn new skills and be a role model we'd love to hear from you!

 

The Opportunity

You will provide a range of support services both inside and outside the classroom, creating an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of every student. By offering tailored assistance to students with specific inclusion and support needs, schools can ensure that each learner has equitable access to educational opportunities and the tools necessary to achieve their full potential. This support might include individualized learning plans, small group interventions, assistive technology, or collaboration with specialists to address academic, social, and emotional development. Ultimately, such comprehensive and flexible support helps students progress confidently, fostering independence and a sense of belonging across all learning settings.

About you

You are a committed and adaptable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team in supporting students with additional learning needs. Experience in providing tailored support to students and a sound understanding of the issues surrounding Additional Learning Support are essential. You should have a working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, the Equalities Act 2010, and current SEND reforms, including Education, Health and Care Plans, as well as an understanding of RARPA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion, equality, and continuous improvement to make a meaningful impact in helping learners achieve and progress.
