Who are Fair Ways and what do we stand for?
Fair Ways is a leading children’s services charity based in the Solent, delivering Fostering, Education, Residential, Mental Health and Family services and cares for over 400 children, families, young people and vulnerable adults each year. Fair Ways is a great place to work. We are a team. We care about each other and are all committed to making a change to the lives of the young people and service users in our care. We will not apologise for calling our staff great, the best, or world-class. Our staff are at the core of our organisation and we celebrate them by shouting it from the rooftops!
Where and when do we need you?
Fair Ways are looking for a Maths Teacher to work as part of our fantastic teaching team at our specialist Autism School located at the new Eastleigh Campus of Glade School. This individual will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner with a clear understanding of the provision necessary for successful learning and teaching with all academic levels but more specifically, our secondary age students that require educational support at a Key Stage 1/2 level.
We strongly believe in creating a person-centred programme to meet each child’s needs adapting a unique ‘autistic curriculum’. This not only captures the pupil’s learning needs but also addresses social, emotional and communication needs of children and young people with autism, and nurtures their independence and well-being. Students are placed with Fair Ways when most other mainstream or specialist schools have been unsuccessful. As such, they are likely to have been out of education for a long period of time, having exhausted multiple placements.
As a Maths Teacher at our School you will be involved in exciting and rewarding things like:
Successful candidates will be working a 37.5 per week, term time only. All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
