About the Role

  • Deliver a professional and responsive service by acting as a first point of contact for all people-related enquiries, providing a professional, welcoming and responsive service to employees, managers, candidates and external stakeholders via face-to-face interactions, telephone and email.
  • Provide comprehensive People administration support across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee changes, payroll and leavers.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, ensuring an excellent candidate experience and the completion of all pre-employment, safeguarding and compliance checks.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR systems (SelectHR), ensuring data integrity, GDPR compliance and statutory reporting requirements are met.
  • Support payroll administration by preparing and processing employee data, contract changes and employment-related documentation.
  • Monitor key employment and compliance deadlines including DBS checks, probation reviews, right to work documentation, visa expiries and mandatory training requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, service delivery, efficiency and the overall employee experience.

About You

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Solid administration experience from any sector; strong organisational skills, reliable and confident in managing a varied workload with good attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes and maintaining accurate personnel records, would be advantageous.  
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and experience using HR systems such as SelectHR or similar HR information systems and either experience of, or a willingness to work with AI.
  • A good understanding of compliance requirements, including safeguarding, safer recruitment, data protection/GDPR, right to work and visa compliance, would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify efficiencies, improve processes, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment that values equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Educated to A level or equivalent (including English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above) and/or related degree such as Business Studies, HR, Psychology
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification is desirable, or a willingness to be working towards this.
