Manufacturing Process Engineer

We are recruiting a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team based at our site in Howden, East Yorkshire. With a significant multibillion strategic growth plan, it’s a truly exciting time to be part of our growing team at Howdens.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering incremental improvements to our existing technologies whilst supporting the implementation of new technologies and processes across the engineering and operations teams.

What you will be doing as a Manufacturing Process Engineer:

  • Developing process controls on high volume automated production processes
  • Facilitating production teams in the implementation of Lean manufacturing tools
  • Supporting the development of Leader Standard work at all levels within the Business
  • Through the use of route cause analysis, developing the existing process capabilities and introducing control methods to ensure the repeatability of production processes and improved productivity
  • Producing detailed study of existing process variables and engaging with our operations teams to implement optimised process set up and control techniques
  • Creating process improvement opportunities on associated engineering solutions and ensure tracking of ongoing developments
  • Communicating in both a verbal and presentation context to key stakeholders in manufacturing operations, engineering and technical

What we’re looking for:

  • A solid understanding of production processes and controls
  • The ability to use LEAN principles for problem solving
  • Experience of route cause analysis methodology and knowledge of statistical process control
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders to influence decision making
  • Intellectual agility, with a high degree of analytical skills, to apply to problem solving and solution generation
  • Minimum HNC in an engineering focused discipline
