We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and reliable person to join our team based at The Old Library Arts Centre as a Building Officer.

The successful candidate will be flexible, conscientious, self-motivated, with the ability to organise their own work, work as part of a team and be able to offer a variety of practical skills. Proven customer service skills are also key, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers and customers, especially young people.

This post is responsible for the day-to-day building tasks of a Grade II listed building, including opening the building, assisting with regular building checks, and weekly tests.  The role also includes preparing meeting rooms ready for hire, moving furniture, general janitorial and cleaning duties carried out to a high standard.  This post works alongside an evening Building Officer and plays a key role in ensuring The Old Library is a safe and appealing place to work in and visit.

This is a physical role, with some working at height. The post is a keyholder and will be on call as the first point of contact, for security/emergency services, out of office hours. The successful candidate must, therefore, be able to travel to the premises quickly.  A local address would be advantageous. A basic ability to use computers is desirable. 

Timetable: 18.5 hours per week working 8am to 12pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 10.30am Friday

Postholder may be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Overview:

Salary: Hourly rate: Grade 3 £12.18 - £12.59 plus accrued leave

Inspire is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated person to join our Mobile Library Services Team.

The post holder will be responsible for driving the vehicle and assisting with delivering frontline services from agreed locations across Nottinghamshire, providing cover for vacancies, holidays, and sickness as and when required. The duties of this post mean the post holder will be expected to be able to prioritise their own work within an agreed framework and use their own judgement and discretion on most appropriate actions where necessary.

Currently looking for cover in Worksop, Kirkby and Southwell areas.

The successful candidate will:

• Be responsible for ensuring the vehicle and other equipment used comply with relevant legislation, reporting faults and defects.

• Hold an HGV [Category C] Driving Licence as well as evidence of CPC [Certificate of Professional Competence].

• Carry out all vehicle related duties including maintaining accurate records, regular vehicle checks and fault reporting.

• Be able to work alongside staff and volunteers in promoting safe practices for the transportation and delivery of stock and other equipment.

Overview:

Salary: Grade 4 (£24,702 - £27,334 FTE)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join Inspire libraries’ Early Years team as an Early Years Development Worker.

The post supports the development, delivery and promotion of library services to children aged 0 - 4 and their families, including the BookTrust Bookstart programme.

You will be working directly with children and their families in libraries and in the community including; children’s centres, nurseries, parent and toddler groups to encourage book sharing and library use to help inspire a love of books that could last a lifetime. You will be an advocate for the Bookstart programme, early literacy and libraries and work closely with partners in early years, education and health services and across Inspire.

Recent experience of work with young children and their families in a library, education or childcare setting is essential.

You will have excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and an enthusiasm and commitment to the ethos and principles of Bookstart and the public library service.

Working 26 hours per week including occasional weekend working, the postholder will be based at Sutton-in-Ashfield Library, with home working supported. The post involves travel countywide to libraries and community venues.

This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2026.
