Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for delivering exceptional housing services? We’re recruiting a Neighbourhood Operations Manager in the Essex area to cover a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months.
What we’re looking for?
You’ll guide and support a team of 5 Neighbourhood Services Managers (Housing Officers), championing a customer-first culture while driving continuous service and performance improvements and ensuring compliance by the Neighbourhood team with statutory and regulatory requirements.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality landlord services across all tenure types. From managing complex tenancy and leasehold matters to building strong relationships with customers, managing agents, grounds and cleaning contractors and local partners.
You’ll work cross-functionally in shaping new housing developments that meet both organisational and community needs.
We’re seeking someone who leads by example, someone who motivates their team, builds strong internal and external partnerships, and understands that great customer service starts with getting the basics right. You’ll be digitally confident and committed to equipping your team with the tools they need to work effectively in the community.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and is solutions-focused.
To succeed, you’ll need a relevant housing qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent experience, a solid understanding of landlord, leasehold, and tenant legislation, and strong communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with welfare benefits and knowledge of occasions that require liaison with Social Services (e.g. child protection, domestic abuse) are essential.
In addition, you’ll have access to an appropriate means of transport and the ability to undertake work outside of normal office hours to meet the needs of the business.
