The Opportunity with NRC

Building on our continued success, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Track Engineer based in Jersey City NJ

Track Engineers provide technical support to clients and project managers on areas including track design, asset condition assessments, installation of new infrastructure, and maintenance improvements. They are technical experts in areas such as track design, component specification and selection, Risk Based Maintenance (RBM), and component failure investigation.

The successful person will act as a technical specialist for track engineering, helping our client in the delivery of track maintenance, asset management, enhancements and renewals activity and provide support to the Infrastructure engineer in all matters relating to the track engineering of the proposed track renewals. This includes the establishment of relative track Geometry monuments and clearance parameters throughout the tunnel sections within the scope of our works. This is a key engineering role within the project. This role will carry out additional duties as directed by the PM to support other activities associated with a major track renewals program

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the provision of specialist advice, input, and support for our client to deliver track engineering activity.
  • Undertake technical investigations including inspections, tests, and analysis of technical data
  • Provide Track related technical support and guidance to the US team and client
  • Owning engineering assurance and verification activities related to track engineering programme’s.
  • Conduct investigations into client track failures and reporting on the safety and condition of track assets.
  • Provide specialist engineering support capability in relation to maintenance, renewals, and enhancement activity.
  • Assist the Client, Project Manager or Track Engineering team as required.

Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer qualification (desirable)
  • Affiliation with a relevant membership body or organization
  • Knowledge of technical, safety and performance standards relating to track engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in track maintenance management, processes, and techniques
  • Extensive experience in track engineering, including maintenance
  • Knowledge of asset data management, such as linear asset data systems for track condition analysis and Enterprise Asset Management systems (EAMS) for managing asset information and work management
  • An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques
  • Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and establish relationships at all levels
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry, and company standards.
