What is the role?
The Internal Communications Manager role is part of our Group Communications Function reporting to the Group Head of Internal Communications. The role fosters effective communication across the organisation, ensuring alignment with business goals, and strengthening employee engagement. This position will involve managing key projects such as an awards programme, co-creating campaigns, finding and telling great stories, supporting leadership communications, and keeping the organisation informed. As a trusted communications business partner, the successful candidate will also collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation to help them communicate effectively across our channels.

What you’ll do as an Internal Communications Manager

  • Awards programme management: Oversee the end-to-end coordination of the company’s internal awards programme, including planning, execution, and communication strategies, ensuring the programme recognises and celebrates employee achievements.
  • Content creation: Develop engaging written stories, basic videos and internal campaigns that inspire, inform, and motivate employees.
  • Leadership meeting content management: Prepare and manage communication materials and presentations for leadership meetings, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.
  • Intranet content updates: Regularly update and manage intranet content to reflect current projects, announcements, and initiatives, ensuring it remains a central hub for employee information.
  • Internal communications campaign co-creation and execution.
  • Business partner collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align communication strategies with people initiatives, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging.
  • Strategic alignment: Ensure all internal communications are well-aligned with the organisation’s values, culture, and strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships across departments to understand needs, gather insights, and translate them into effective communication strategies.
  • Working with colleagues to ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages and to develop, share and leverage appropriate content.
  • Monitor the Group Communications inbox and respond to queries.
  • Measuring, reviewing and adjusting communications content accordingly.

What experience do I need?

  • Proven experience in internal communications role, ideally within a corporate environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Canva and video production and editing skills are desired.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience in managing awards programmes or similar initiatives.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
