What is the role?
Persimmon Homes is one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, creating quality homes and sustainable communities nationwide. We’re now seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Partnership Homes (South) to lead our regional Partnership Homes team.
This senior position plays a key role in delivering Persimmon’s affordable housing and investor management strategy. Working with our Operating Companies, Registered Providers and Local Authorities, you’ll ensure high-quality, commercially viable affordable housing provision under s.106 obligations.
You’ll also support the Group Head of Partnership Homes and the Group Director of Partnership Homes in implementing Group-wide initiatives and achieving Group Affordable Homes delivery targets across the business.
What you’ll do as a Head of Partnership Homes (South)
- Lead and develop the regional Partnership Homes team to deliver affordable housing and investor management objectives.
- Advise regional Operating Companies on affordable housing strategies, including tenure mix, layouts and value optimisation.
- Build strong partnerships with Registered Providers, Local Authorities and internal teams to ensure positive outcomes.
- Manage the tendering and contracting process for s.106 affordable housing in line with Group policies and timescales.
- Support Group leadership in meeting affordable housing delivery targets and reporting on performance.
- Contribute to Group policy, procedures and performance frameworks for affordable housing delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide clear, accurate reports to senior management.
- Develop and mentor Partnership Delivery Managers and Trainees, ensuring capability, motivation and succession planning within the team.
- Represent Persimmon at external meetings and events with MHCLG, Local Authorities and Registered Providers.
What experience do I need?
- You’ll be an organised, proactive and commercially minded leader with strong knowledge of the affordable housing sector and experience delivering successful development projects.
- Previous experience in housing development management is essential.
- Strong understanding of s.106 obligations and affordable housing policy.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
- Analytical, with strong reporting and presentation capabilities.
- IT-proficient (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant field is an advantage.
- Experience in affordable housing within a housebuilder or consultancy will also be beneficial.
