We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Lending team. This role is responsible for the management and leadership of their ‘Pod’ of Relationship Managers and Support Officers working to retain and originate new commercial lending deals for both existing and new clients. They will also manage a portfolio of our larger and more complex customers

Key responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients through a Relationship model to retain and execute new commercial lending deals for both existing and new clients within the standards the Society sets in terms of credit policy and returns.
  • Leadership: Lead a small ‘Pod’ of Relationship Managers and Support Officers to deliver on the strategic and financial plans for the business
  • Stakeholder Management: As part of the Commercial Senior Leadership Team you will input and influence on areas such as performance, strategy, and team development.
  • Networking: Build strong professional relationships within the commercial real estate and business community to develop the Society’s brand to maximum effect.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: You will have a role in developing the skills and capabilities of colleagues within your Pod

Key Skills:

  • Substantial experience in a commercial property lending environment including investment and development funding structures with a detailed understanding of areas such as security, risk management, legal and regulatory environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring
  • Strong sales and negotiating skills
  • Driving licence – a company car will be provided as part of the package
