What’s on offer:

Hourly Rate: £12.96 plus holiday pay calculated at 15.55% (equivalent of 35 days paid leave per year)

Duration: Fixed Term Contract starting in Term 1 2024 until 28th June 2025 (subject to a 24-week probationary period) and working throughout the academic year.

Hours: You will be expected to work an average of 2 shifts a week (an average of 10-12 hours a week) throughout term time; although we cannot guarantee these hours. Working hours will vary and will include evening and weekend work.

Location: Warwick Students’ Union, Coventry

What’s the role?
Working in Curiositea as an F&B Team Leader, you will be required to lead a team of food and beverage assistants to ensure a high standard of service is provided to customers, food and drinks are served in an efficient manner and a safe, clean working environment is maintained.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver a high level of service in a fast paced catering setting. You should have experience of achieving and maintaining high levels of health, safety and cleanliness in this environment to ensure that our customers receive the best possible experience. You should be able to demonstrate initiative and good verbal communication whilst overseeing the Food and Beverage Assistant Team to ensure the successful delivery of food and drinks service and the safe operation of our Outlets during our day to day operations.

JOB TITLE: Food and Beverage Team Leader – Curiositea                    

RESPONSIBLE TO: Deputy Outlet Manager and Management Team and through them, to Food and Beverage Manager, Head of Strategic Operations, Operations Director, Chief Executive and Board of Trustees

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Food and Beverage Assistants

MAIN PURPOSE FOR JOBTo lead a successful team in the food and beverage department, working closely with supervisors to run an efficient shift, to prepare and serve drink ensuring high standards of customer care

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To organise allocated staff on shift and monitor staff appearance
  • To serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner, according to organisational policy on customer care
  • Allocate and monitor staff breaks time sheets.
  • To train & coach F & B Assistants
  • To keep displays and fridges well stocked and tidy.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating change for tills and correct till procedures are followed.
  • To support the Designated Premises Supervisor and Personal License Holders in the upholding of the Premises License covering all licensable activities.
  • To replenish when necessary and keep a well-stocked area throughout the outlet. Support the Food and Beverage team in the implementation of promotional and merchandising plans
  • To keep preparation areas and seating areas clean and tidy and free from rubbish. Ensure cleaning sheets are in operation throughout the shift.
  • To operate all machinery and equipment in a correct and safe manner and ensure that the Food and Beverage team do the same.
  • To abide by current legislation, concerning health, safety and fire.
  • To comply with the Unions food safety policy & any other relevant hygiene legislation
  • To commit to reducing the Students’ Union environmental impact and promote environmental and ethical good practice
  • The above to be carried out with regard to organisational policy on Equal Opportunities and continuous improvement
  • To assist operations in all SU run Commercial areas where required

  • Ensure that staff are aware and use the correct till procedures at all times.
  • To ensure that their role is clearly understood, particularly their liability and responsibility
  • To work within a team to promote a well stocked outlet and develop ideas for merchandising the products we sell
  • Ensure that organisational policy on Health and Safety is followed
  • To use equipment for its designed purpose and according to organisational policy on Health and Safety
  • To follow manual handling procedures
  • Use appropriate protective clothing or equipment
  • Maintain temperature records, cleaning schedules & any other due diligence documentation, taking preventative & corrective action when necessary. Ensure F & B Assistants adhere to laid down standards.
