Job Summary – Live-In Carer (Kemp Town/Whitehawk)
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to join our care team as a Live-In Carer in Brighton
This role involves supporting a female client living in her own home with a diagnosis of Dementia. The client is bed bound, but has moving and handling equipment to assist her out of bed with a second carer, should she wish to.
The client has capacity but can at times be forgetful about when her carers have been in, this has caused her anxiety and historically has triggered her to call the emergency services. We are hoping that having a live in package of care will ease her anxiety and provide her with companionship. Our client will soon turn 108 years old, she is sociable and enjoys sharing memories, but also likes her own space.
The successful candidate will be patient, calm, empathetic, and able to provide reassurance and emotional support when needed. The client is looking for someone who is mellow and happy to give the client space when she needs it.
As part of your role, you would be required to work with a second carer who attends 30minutes 4 x a day to assist with a pad change, personal care and moving and handling. You will be required to prepare meals, drinks and administer medication as required. The client will be required to support with food shopping and ensure that the domestic tasks are kept on top of in the flat.
