Contract: Permanent, working 21 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)
Salary: £27,401 (pro rata) per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Manchester (The role will be based in Manchester; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)
Arts Council England is looking for an experienced Assistant, Finance to join our inclusive and collaborative team in Manchester. The full-time role offers an attractive benefits package, including a salary of £27,401 (pro rata) per annum.
You'll work flexibly across the financial accounts function, working with the Officers in the Financial Accounts team, but will lead on specific areas of work that cover purchase ledger, accounts receivables and payments.
In your first few weeks, you will engage in these tasks:
- Checking and processing supplier invoices.
- Creating new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Supporting staff with expenses, including administering the procurement card system.
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on staff expense claims in line with Arts Council policy.
- Being a first point of contact for relevant queries.
To succeed in the role, you will need experience working in a finance function in a medium-sized organisation, and experience using a range of financial accounting systems and MS Excel. You will also need the following:
- The ability to investigate financial queries as directed.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build good working relationships.
- Adept at planning and organising workload to meet conflicting deadlines.
