Contract: Working 35 hours per week, Fixed term for 12 months (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

Salary: £36,987 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working. 

Location: Leeds or Manchester (The role will be based Leeds or Manchester; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week) 

Artsmark is the Arts Council’s national schools programme, celebrating schools that bring learning to life through arts, culture and creativity. The postholder will support the Arts Council’s delivery plan action to widen and improve opportunities for children and young people to take part in creative activities inside schools and will lead the operational development of Artsmark Award including strategy development and business planning.

Leading the Artsmark team, you will manage the operational delivery of the Artsmark programme nationally including all project management. You will be responsible for the business plan, project plan and monitor the budget, reporting to the Senior Manager for Children & Young People and Learning. 

You will manage the day-to-day running of the Artsmark Award, including supervision of staff, management of registrations, progress tracking and assessment processes. You will also provide ongoing support for schools, you will develop and commission CPD opportunities and resources.

A confident communicator, you will manage relationships with delivery partners and key stakeholders, monitoring grants and contracts and maintaining good communications. You will represent the Arts Council on relevant matters and participate in discussion groups and events to promote the work of the Artsmark programme.

You will plan and manage ongoing evaluation of Artsmark analysing findings to inform the ongoing development of the programme.

You will work closely with Communications colleagues to deliver a successful marketing and communications strategy for Artsmark and hold oversight of the Artsmark website.

To support the work of the Artsmark and wider CYP teams, you will produce updates, present data and produce briefing papers and reports. You will be contributing to responses against Freedom of Information, Government and other external requests.

You will keep up to date about developments in the cultural education sector, disseminating information to colleagues as required. 

You will combine specialist knowledge and expertise with flexibility & curiosity to contribute to areas beyond your specialism, on a broad range of policy areas.
