Salary: £4,076 per annum

Fitness Instructor (Adult Swim Fit)

Background

Canford Sports Centre is a purpose-built sports facility, comprising a fully equipped fitness suite, large sports hall, dance/aerobic studio and new 25m indoor swimming pool. In addition, the Centre can also boast extensive outdoor facilities such as tennis courts, netball courts, hockey and football pitches. 

The Sports Centre is used to support the school’s sporting programme, normally between the hours of 1400 – 1800 during term-time.  At all other times the facilities are available for use by the general public, either on a membership basis or pay as you go, for clubs, groups and some voluntary organisations. 

Overall Purpose

The role of the Fitness Instructor is to deliver Adult Swim Fitness sessions at Canford Sports Centre for our existing members in a fun, engaging, and professional manner. The instructor will plan and lead structured sessions that help participants improve their swimming technique, fitness, and confidence in the water.

The Fitness Instructor will create a positive and motivating environment for swimmers of varying abilities, ensuring sessions are enjoyable while supporting members in achieving their individual fitness goals. The role will also support the Sports Centre team in maintaining a high-quality swimming programme for our members.

Duties

  •          Organise and lead Adult Swim Fitness sessions for Sports Centre members
  •          Ensure that health and safety, risk assessments are in place when leading a class
  •      Organise equipment for fitness as required and ensure that equipment is maintained appropriately
  •          Liaise with the Sports Centre Operations Manager and the team in relation to fitness classes

Knowledge / Experience

  • ASA/STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification (E)
  • Swim England Level 1/2 Coach or similar (E)
  • Previous Swim Club background (D)
