About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for educational professionals who have an interest, experience and passion in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas below. If you are a dynamic education professional and have a passion for engaging with students and curating a course(s) exploring these key themes then we would like to hear from you!

  • History – ancient to contemporary (Britain, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, the Korean peninsula, Japan, Africa, the Middle East, Ukraine, Poland, China, Italy, Wales, Australia) – daytime, early evening or weekend face-to-face and online course/s (NB: British and Welsh history only F2F!).
  • Memory and heritage and its politics (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, China, Japan, the Middle East) – daytime, early evening or weekend face-to-face course/s + online evening courses).
  • Jewish and Muslim history and heritage (Britain and/or transnational European and global perspectives) – daytime, early evening or weekend face-to-face course/s + online evening courses.
  • The history of science and technology (transnational perspectives and a focus on either the Islamic world, Latin America, East Asia or South Asia) – daytime, early evening or weekend face-to-face course/s.

 

You’ll be a key contributor to our History, Politics, Philosophy and Science department, where our renowned high-quality courses focus on inspiring students to explore and develop their knowledge, understanding and critical faculties. You will be part of a supportive team and receive plenty of opportunities for developing your teaching practice in ways that centre learning.

  • Have up to date knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest for the subject.
  • Demonstrable experience of teaching your subject to adults or groups of adults face-to-face/online.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).
