Finance Assistant

Role Purpose

Support the National Finance Manager to provide essential financial and administrative support ensuring the smooth, accurate, and compliant operation of the firm’s end to end payroll processes.  In addition, the role will support with PSA, Car Fleet maintenance, Clarity travel and Client Account maintenance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Process the monthly payroll, generating payroll reports and identifying trends or discrepancies. Provide Benefit-In-Kind (BIK) related reporting for review by management
  • Completion of annual P11Ds and PSA reporting
  • Address any payroll issues, queries, and disputes, resolving discrepancies and ensuring transparency
  • Support on car insurance, V5C’s, fuel cards and reporting on vehicle fleet
  • General client account tasks including downloading monthly statements and preparing reconciliations
  • Assist with any queries from the firm’s employees regarding Clarity bookings, setting up and activating new staff or amends for existing staff
  • Assist with daily cash tracking against forecast to ensure the firm has sufficient liquidity
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks as required from time to time to assist in the general running of the department

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of applicable payroll laws and regulations is essential
  • Payroll CIPP qualification desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial records and reporting
  • Sound working knowledge of MS windows-based software packages, including excel
