Data Scientist

At Helping Hands, we know the power of data to transform how care is delivered. As a Data Scientist, you’ll help us build and deploy machine learning and AI solutions that make a real difference – from improving our operations to enhancing the experience of our customers and carers.

Working in our Data & Insight team, you’ll take on a hands-on technical role where your models and insights will directly impact how we run the business and support families across the UK.

You will be required to work at least 1 day per week from our Support Office in Alcester

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing, building and deploying machine learning models that solve real business challenges.

  • Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective modelling approaches.

  • Using Python, SQL, and Snowflake to build scalable, high-value solutions.

  • Supporting deployment workflows and working with engineers to get models into production.

  • Communicating results and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Sharing knowledge through code reviews and mentoring colleagues.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong technical skills in Python and SQL, with a solid grounding in machine learning and statistics.

  • Proven experience building models in production or near-production environments.

  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply, and adapt communication for different audiences.

  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with strong ownership of your work.

  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, GitHub, or deep learning frameworks would be a bonus.
