Role Purpose
The PSL for the Real Estate department will provide legal research, analysis and guidance and support to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. In addition, the PSL will facilitate knowledge sharing, develop precedents and keep the department updated on industry trends and best practices, enhancing the efficiency and quality of work delivered to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain key precedent documents, guidance materials and resources.
- Deliver internal training, workshops and induction sessions for lawyers and support staff.
- Organise and provide bespoke client training and sector‑specific knowledge resources.
- Respond to ad hoc queries from real estate lawyers and assist with drafting and reviewing documents.
- Research legal and policy developments and produce briefings, practice notes and guidance.
- Update lawyers on legal developments and support business development and client‑care initiatives.
- Conduct file reviews and create checklists, protocols and best‑practice standards for the department.
- Act as departmental compliance champion and support profile‑raising efforts, including legal directory submissions and content for online platforms.
Person Specification
- Experience in providing recognised expertise that supports good decision-making, consistent quality, and the development of others.
- Demonstrates efficient and commercially aware practice, with an ability to recognise sector developments and adjust approach to meet evolving needs.
- A proven ability to understand what matters to stakeholders and strengthen relationships.
- A people centered approach to identify opportunities and contribute to the firm’s success through collaborative engagement.
- Ability to model constructive behaviours, support colleagues and help create a clear sense of direction through good judgement and positive influence.
- Ability to manage complex and competing demands with confidence, provide clear and reasoned guidance, and build effective working relationships across the business.
- Shows a clear understanding of financial hygiene and contributes to achieving team and individual performance goals.
Technical Know How
- Qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial real estate law
- Strong research and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of real estate law principles and regulations
- Demonstratable commitment to staying updated on developments in real estate law and contributing to the professional knowhow of colleagues
