To support the growth and increase in passenger numbers, Leeds Bradford Airport is now recruiting cleaning staff. We are looking for reliable and hard-working staff, with a professional attitude who will be courteous and welcoming to both passengers and staff at the Airport.

 

Role Purpose: To be part of the Cleaning Team ensuring an exceptional level of cleaning service is delivered across all areas of the Airport and to ensure all aspects of cleanliness exceed our customers’ expectations at all times.

 

Shift pattern 6am - 6pm - MUST be able to get to the airport ready to start their shift at 6am, therefore access to a vehicle is preferable due to airport location.

 

Role Responsibilities & Main Duties:

  • To carry out regular cleaning patrols of airport zones around the building both inside and outside of the terminal
  • To report any cleanliness and maintenance issues to the Cleaning Supervisor
  • To assist departments with their reports of cleanliness issues and attend in an acceptable time to rectify the issue
  • Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
  • Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops
  • Mopping floors with brushes with or dust control mops
  • Mopping floors with wet or damp mops
  • Vacuuming and suction cleaning carpeted areas
  • Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors
  • To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces
  • To replenish consumable items
  • To clean washrooms Hourly in peak times, including urinals, toilets and sinks
  • To use chemical agents as directed by the Cleaning Team Leader in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, in line with COSHH
  • To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arms extension from floor level
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job

 

Role Essential Competencies:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role preferable but not essential
  • A team player with an enthusiastic and hardworking attitude
  • A flexible approach to working
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislations and COSHH but not essential

 

Role Shift Times:

  • Day Shifts
  • Working 6am until 6pm
  • Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
