We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to undertake the role of a Booking Agent at The Drill venue in Lincoln.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and securing performance opportunities for artists, musicians, performers, and entertainers. You will play a crucial role in managing and promoting The Drill to create a performance schedule, negotiate contracts and ensure all logistical aspects are taken care of.
Key areas of responsibility and experience are as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
- Book Performances: Secure performance opportunities for live music and entertainment, contributing to the planning and delivery of such events.
- Negotiate Contracts: Work with promoters, similar venues, and other entities to negotiate performance fees, terms, and conditions.
- Build Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with promoters, venue owners, and industry professionals to expand the venues opportunities.
- Track Financials: Ensure that payments are processed in a timely manner, riders, settlements and invoicing according to the negotiated terms working with Lincoln College Finance department. Analysing booking data, increase ticket sales through proactive promotion for the events working closely with The Drill management team to enhance portfolio.
- Promote Venue: Ensure that bookings align with brand and goals of the venue to enhance positive reputation and growth within the industry.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with industry trends, market demands, and competitor activity to maximise booking opportunities.
- Health and Safety: Ensure all health and safety within the building is protected its heritage, features and regulations. Safeguarding is adhered to and promoting all aspects of the welfare of children and young people through college policy.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the live entertainment industry, venues, and event promoters in the live music scene. Understand the local interests to ensure a successful booking schedule.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and deals in the best interest of the artist working closely in line with budgets alongside The Commercial Operations Manager.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with artists, venues, and promoters.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple bookings and coordinate logistics efficiently with strong verbal communication.
- Networking: Strong network of industry contacts and the ability to build new relationships.
- Experience: Previous experience in artist management, live events, or music booking is a necessity.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during bookings or performances working closely with the event management team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field (e.g. Music Business, Entertainment Management, culture and arts).
- Prior experience working with a range of artists, from emerging to established 2-5 years
- Festivals, live music or venue event management experience compulsory.
- Familiarity with booking deals, procedures and settlements.
