Role Title: Senior Governance & Compliance Officer

Location: Hybrid between our Mariner House, Dartford office and home

We are seeking a Senior Governance & Compliance Officer to play a key role in supporting our Board, Committees, and Executive teams. This is a high-profile and impactful position where you will help ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, and effective decision-making across the organisation. 

As a senior member of the Governance & Compliance team, you will lead the delivery of best-practice governance processes, ensuring that Moat meets its Code of Governance and regulatory expectations. You will provide expert advice, drive continuous improvement, and help maintain a robust and transparent governance framework. 

This is a varied and influential role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, including Board and Committee members. 

What We’re Looking For 

We are looking for a highly organised and professional governance specialist with a strong understanding of governance frameworks within a regulated environment. 

You will be confident working with senior stakeholders, including Board members, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You will bring strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving governance processes. 

Essential 

  • Strong knowledge of governance and regulatory frameworks within the social housing sector 
  • Significant experience in a governance, company secretarial, or corporate governance role 
  • Excellent drafting skills, including minutes, reports, and formal governance documentation 
  • Experience supporting Executive teams, Boards, and Committees 
  • Experience using Board portal software (e.g. Diligent or BoardEffect) 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word 
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage complex information
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion 
  • Experience in case management and cross-departmental working 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
