About the role:

Due to continued growth, we are hiring a graduate-calibre Engineer to join our team in Sydney. You will need to have a background in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical or Systems Engineering, and a range of soft skills like knowing how to communicate with others, working in a team, report writing, and demonstrating an eye for detail.

The Engineer role is built around a three-year training program which has been designed to help you bridge the gap between education and the workplace. Reporting to a team of management consultants, you will gain practical exposure to a diverse portfolio of rail projects whilst rotating through our departments on a six-month basis.

By the end of the training program, you will have been exposed to rail assignments related to advisory and strategic planning, railway operations, systems integration, asset management and maintenance, and project management.

The type of work in these rail assignments will be diverse and include things like providing research-based project deliverables, developing technical requirements, and supporting bid delivery.

Our graduate program also includes:

  • Up to three structured learning visits to the United Kingdom to spend time in our parent company, Network Rail;
  • Membership to Engineers Australia (the national body for Engineers with over 120,000 members);
  • Enrolment on the industry recognised development program with Engineers Australia;
  • Professional networking opportunities with rail industry professionals;
  • Internal and external learning and development training courses;
  • Support and access to peers and mentors; and
  • Participation in the 'Go Global Grads Working Group’

About you

  • You will need to be an Australian citizen;
  • Studying for or have recently completed a relevant degree (as outlined above);
  • A genuine desire for a career in the rail consulting sector;
  • Capable of handling different tasks, responsibilities and tight schedules;
  • Commitment and reliability in the workplace;
  • Passionate about personal and professional growth;
  • Excellent written and spoken abilities;
  • Skills in report writing;
  • Results orientated; and
  • A keen eye for detail

Sound interesting?

To apply, please submit your resume along with a one-page cover letter outlining your interest in joining an international rail consulting business, and addressing your interest and suitability for our graduate program.
