What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Land Buyer to join the Land Team. The Planning team in our Stockton Office provides a comprehensive planning service for Persimmon Homes across our Teesside and North Yorkshire area.

The post carries a level of responsibility, involving being part of a team on a variety of projects. It is expected that the post holder will undertake tasks using initiative and be expected to manage their own and other team members time to hit key deadlines, deliver sites and present both internally and externally in a professional way.

The role will include:

  • Managing the land buying process within the Land and Planning team as well as supporting Technical and Commercial teams
  • Carrying out detailed site searches to identify new opportunities
  • Managing their own and team members work lists with a focus on delivery to key deadlines
  • Appraising both Strategic and short-term opportunity
  • Negotiating heads of terms & contract on new opportunities
  • Meeting with agents and owners and presenting the
  • Presenting and report writing for internal board approvals

What we need from you?

  • Relevant or related undergraduate and/or post graduate qualifications;
  • IT proficiency, particularly conversant with MS Office package;
  • Report writing skills and excellent business English with good attention to detail;
  • Full driving licence
  • Land Buying experience
  • Committed to providing professional, proactive and innovative solutions:

  • Instructing, Managing and working alongside legal professionals in contract negotiation
  • Commercially focused;
  • A willingness and ability to work with initiative and managing other team members.
