Accounts Client Finance

We are looking to recruit an Accounts Client Finance to join our established team based in Birkenhead

The Role has the overall responsibility for Client Monies. This will involve making some benefit claims on behalf of clients, chasing receipt of monies due and ensuring transactions are recorded in line with Statutory regulations (CQC etc).

Potens advocate that funds held by client monies are easily and quickly accessible.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant may not have experience of benefits. Assistance will be provided for the applicant to develop the role and gain necessary experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure that the sales team have accurate information to invoice all client contributions due. prepare transfers from client monies bank account for the sales team to allocate payments of these invoices. Liaise with service managers/appointees in the collection of overdue amounts.
  • Maintain and record the client monies transactions relating to Client monies on the accounts system, including the reconciliation of the client monies bank accounts and recording any applicable payments for client mileage, utilities, recharges and holiday contributions in line with monthly deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining up to date client records on services petty cash sheets for the accurate recording of client cash spent at service level. Working closely with the Accounts Assistant service funds checking client debit card spend in the services virtual bank account and ensuring clients have easy access to their funds held.
  • Maintain the client monies statement system and prepare monthly individual statements for the service managers/appointees. Liaise with service managers/appointees in the collection of any debit balances due to Potens and queries regarding client capital balances or for financial assessments.
  • Escalate in a timely manner to Finance Manager client debt issues.
  • Assist when required in benefit claims via DWP and keep up to date in current benefit legislation and changes.
  • To maintain an effective and positive working relationship with other departments within the organisation and externally providing information and advice as appropriate.
  • To provide cover for other members of the Finance Department during periods of leave (holidays and sickness).
  • Identify training needs and securing appropriate solutions with the Finance Manager/ Director
  • Any other ad hoc projects as requested by the Finance Manager / Director.

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum 2 years working within finance department, experience of benefits is preferable
  • The ability to effectively manage your time and to work well as part of a team
  • Take a hands-on approach with a good eye for detail.
  • Work well to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to extract necessary information from relevant people
  • To share knowledge with other areas of information systems
  • Microsoft Office- preferable good excel skills
  • Open Accounts (preferable – not essential as training will be provided
