  • Translate external requirements into actionable internal guidance and clear, practical advice for business areas.
  • Contribute to policy development and ensure alignment across systems, controls and risk assessments.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders across the business to support and influence change projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide oversight, challenge and assurance on key financial crimes risks and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate significant issues to the Head of Financial Crime where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain detection rules within the Jade transaction monitoring platform and other key financial crime systems.
  • Optimise thresholds and scenarios to balance detection effectiveness and false positive rates.
  • Collaborate with IT, operational teams and external clients to test implement changes.
  • Support the production of board-level papers discussing complex regulatory issues.
  • Ensure smooth handovers to the wider Financial Crime team for ongoing monitoring and support.

🧑‍💻 What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing complex financial crime legislation, guidance and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of financial services products, including mortgages, savings and protection.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A confident communicator, capable of providing clear advice and assurance at all levels.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a passion for doing the right thing.

Desirable Competencies:

  • Experience configuring and managing transaction monitoring, screening or fraud detection systems.
  • Previous experience working with external clients and system owners to implement rules-based controls.
