We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst to join our Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) team. This is a key role supporting the availability, reliability, and performance of critical business systems that underpin the organisation’s operations.

You’ll be part of a team of Operations Analysts and will act as an escalation point for day-to-day operational issues. You will help identify and deliver improvements to operational processes, proactively support high system availability, and provide technical support to colleagues.

In addition to operational duties, you’ll also work in project groups, supporting both larger transformation initiatives and smaller delivery tasks, ensuring operational readiness, effective transition, and long-term stability of solutions delivered.

This role requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide support during evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring 24/7 operational coverage for critical systems. Your involvement will be crucial in promptly addressing and resolving high-priority incidents to maintain system reliability and performance.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in IT operations, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, and values the importance of process, structure, and collaboration.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide operational support for enterprise applications, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Act as an escalation point for colleagues across the team for technical issues and incidents.
  • Research, recommend, and develop process improvements and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and manage job scheduling systems (e.g. OpCon) and core enterprise systems.
  • Maintain and support scheduled tasks, backups, monitoring, and batch processing tools.
  • Work with project teams to deliver both strategic and smaller-scale initiatives.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and ensure administrative compliance.
  • Share and document knowledge and provide training or guidance to colleagues and wider teams.

What you’ll bring:

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in an IT Operations or similar technical support role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with job scheduling tools (e.g. OpCon or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with core enterprise system operations (Unisys preferred, IBM also valuable).
  • Awareness of enterprise IT processes and ability to follow and document them meticulously.
  • Comfortable working across complex infrastructure and interacting with various teams.
  • Experience working on projects and delivering operational elements of change.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.

Desirable Technical Knowledge

Experience in some of the following areas is highly advantageous:

  • OpCon Scheduling & Automation / OpCon Self-Service
  • End to end enterprise system Operations (e.g. Unisys, IBM)
  • DataBridge (highly desirable)
  • DMSII, MCP Configuration & Installation
  • Columbus-DW, SQL server Administration, T-SQL, Idera
  • Epay Administration, Octopus, Mulesoft, CyberArk

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Proactive, organised, and committed to operational excellence.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Confident in balancing day-to-day operations with long-term improvements and delivery work.
  • Willing to get involved in admin and documentation tasks as part of a well-run operation.
  • Passionate about delivering value and maintaining a high standard of service.
