What is this programme ? This is a full time position working within our Technical Services Team whilst studying towards a degree. The degree is a work based programme designed to provide essential knowledge, understanding and skills required to operate effectively and successfully in a technical support role. It allows you to combine workplace learning opportunities with theoretical knowledge gained through formal classes. The programme offers a highly practical approach to learning that is immediately applicable to workplace situations.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for technology & sales within the Industrial IT market. The individual must be highly motivated, hard working and looking for a long term career at M.A.C. Solutions. The right candidate must be driven to succeed within the business.
How does it work ? You will join us prior to the start of your degree to become familiar with the way we work. On commencement of the course, you will spend approximately days at University during the academic year, with additional on the job and an element of personal study. The remainder of your time will be spent working in our offices in Redditch.

We are now seeking individuals who can join our post sales Technical Services Team whilst studying towards a degree in Digital & Technology Solutions.
You’ll follow a structured curriculum set by the University spanning a period of four years. During the course you will spend a number of days per year at the University with the remainder of your working time forming part of our Technical Services Team.
To main purpose of the role is to provide the necessary knowledge, expertise and drive to deliver professional, high-quality Technical Support across the range of industrial software and hardware products that MAC Solutions provides.
The Support Engineer’s role is to help the company to continue to provide the Value-added Technical support that it has been providing to our customers by achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Bringing new talent into the organisation keeps up the drive for innovation. Our Engineers are encouraged to share ideas to increase the efficiency of the team and improve the service it provides to our customer base, operating in line with our Quality and Environmental standards and the customers’ Service Level Agreements.
What role would you be applying for with M.A.C.Solutions?
The role which we are currently looking to fill is that of a Support Engineer. The role will be predominantly office-based, however occasional travel to customers’ sites in the UK and Ireland may be required. Flexibility on working times is necessary, within our shift pattern and to satisfy customers’ needs. The purpose of this role is:
• To provide high quality, telephone, email and web-based, technical support on a wide range of Industrial Software and hardware products, following operating procedures and standards
• To exceed our expectations for customer satisfaction, NPS and Customer Effort measurements.
• To stay up to date with the development of new products and technologies
• Demonstrate and maintain good communication between The customer and team.
What are the entry requirements?
• GCSE Maths and English Language at level 5 or higher and in addition a further 3 GCSEs at level 5 or higher.
• A level Maths grade C or higher and an additional A level in Physics; Chemistry; Design & Technology; ICT; Computer Science; Economics or Engineering at grade C or higher.
• Genuine interest in Industrial and Operational Technologies
• Willingness to learn new Software and Hardware skills
• The ability to demonstrate logical reasoning
• Strong computing skills and reasonable competence with Microsoft Operating Systems
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Self motivated but a good team player
• Inquisitive personality
