Personal Assistant (Support Worker)
Job Purpose
Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active, and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.
Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Job Details
We are looking for a male* Personal Assistant to support a friendly man, who lives in the Merchiston area of Edinburgh. This is a part time position, 25 hours plus sleepovers. The candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends. Please note that experience is essential for this role.

About this opportunity
The man enjoys company. He loves to knit and do crochet and one of his hats has been featured on Instagram. He also really likes doing jigsaws and have quite a few framed on his walls. He is passionate about food and cooking, he started to cook healthy meals with support. Going out for the occasional meal and attend workshops four days a week is important part of the man’s routine. He needs support to walk there and back when the weather is good.
To be successful in supporting this person, it is important:
- To be a friendly person
- To be confident
- To have experience in similar role
- To be able to join the team, which provides support 24hr, seven days a week
- To be able to work evenings, weekends (including sleepovers)
