Service Development Assistants

Thistle aims to support individuals, families and communities to maximise their potential and achieve the best possible quality of life.

We are looking for Service Development Assistants to work with a young lady and support her as she transitions into her own tenancy in Craigmillar. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the service alongside the young lady and her family.   She likes to be active in her local community enjoying activities including; swimming, cycling and trampolining.  She is looking for staff who have a sense of humour but who can also hold boundaries when needed.    She wants  resilient team members who understand that people can communicate through their behaviours when stressed or distressed, but with the right support at the right time these instances can be reduced.

We require you to be a driver and have experience of supporting people who communicate through their behaviours, and people that require a resilient approach. You will be familiar with using and contributing to Positive Behaviour Support Plans and working as part of a team to maximise understanding of different forms of communication and approaches to minimise stress.
