Do you want to deliver outstanding levels of animal welfare while teaching and guiding the next generation of animal keepers?

We have an exciting vacancy at our beautiful Bishop Burton campus in our Animal Management Centre where you’ll be working with a wide variety of domestic and exotic species, and, of course, all the students who use our facility to hone their skills before starting their own careers.

We also have a fully functioning commercial kennels, the successful applicant will regularly carry out routine husbandry in this area too. No two days are the same here so flexibility is a must as well as the ability to work with people from all walks of life on a daily basis.

The successful applicant will need

  • 2 years experience gained in an animal care setting – candidates with experience in rodents and companion animals are encouraged to apply.
  • Have the desire to work with our students and help them get the most out of their college experience
  • Be able to deal with challenging situations positively and sensitively
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be comfortable supervising groups of students while they complete their practical sessions
  • Have great communication skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Be adaptable to change and willing to get stuck in
