We have an exciting opportunity for educational professionals who have an interest, experience and passion in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas below. If you are dynamic and have a passion for engaging with students and curating a course(s) exploring these key themes then we would like to hear from you!

  • London walks: parks, woodlands, rivers and wildlife
  • Geology

City Lit are London's largest provider of learning for adults, inspiring over 30,000 students a year and offering more than 5,000 courses, online and face-to-face. As a leader in our field, we have a century’s reputation for delivering the highest quality student experience.

You’ll be a key contributor to our History, Politics, Philosophy and Science department, where our renowned high-quality courses focus on inspiring students to explore and develop their knowledge, understanding and critical faculties. You will be part of a supportive team and receive plenty of opportunities for developing your teaching practice.

To apply please submit your CV and Covering letter which must include a course proposal for at least one of the areas of focus outlined above. You will particularly attract our interest if this covers:

  • Demonstrable experience of teaching your subject to adults or groups of adults.
  • Experience of guiding groups of adults of mixed ability in group settings (for walks).
  • Up to date knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject that can inspire students.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of teaching online (desirable but not essential).
  • A teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).
