Derby College Group (DCG) have an exciting and rare opportunity for a part-time Teacher to join our Digital team at Joseph Wright Centre delivering our fantastic Esports curriculum. The department offers vocationally based qualifications at level 2 and 3. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is ready to deliver an outstanding experience to our students. The Role

Within this role you will be pivotal to the success of the Esports provision the College delivers to students from across the East Midlands. You’ll be joining a dedicated teaching team who are passionate about the subject.

Within this role, the following essential skills and knowledge will be valuable to the success of the Esports provision:

  • Esports and Wider Games Industry Knowledge
  • Esports Events
  • Set up and Management of Live Streamed Broadcasts
  • Industry Software (OBS Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro)

Alongside, a willingness to develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Social media Content Creation (Graphic Design, UI/UX design, SFX)
  • Commercial Branding
  • Digital Marketing
  • Shoutcasting
  • Video Production and Editing
  • Esports Coaching/Performance Analysis
  • Industry Software (Performance Analysis Software, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects)

This will allow you to deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment in those specialised subject areas.

 

About you

You will have teaching experience in Esports, Games or an industry related area and be a forward thinking and innovative teacher with students at the heart of your work. You will have knowledge and expertise that encompasses Esports industry principles such as live events, live streamed broadcasts and specialist software with a willingness to learn and develop expertise in the broader areas listed above.  You will be able to demonstrate these skills through highly effective planning, outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
