The opportunity with NRC

Building on our continued success, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a RAMS Engineer based in Sacramento California, we offer flexibility and hybrid working.

The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Director of Network Integration and will check the implementation of RAM Program Policy and RAM Management Plans for high-speed rail infrastructures.

The role will ensure compliance with national and international standards and embrace international best practice.

 Key Accountabilities

You will support the RAM team with your RAM expertise.

  • Check compliance with RAM requirements using System Engineering approach (V&V)
  • Deliver support, expertise and advice on RAM to the wider working group when developing and managing requirements
  • Manage the provision of international RAM expertise, including their output quality and adherence to program timescales
  • Ensure all deliverables are created in line with the approved evidence-based framework, and perform and support Audits on Contractors RAM Processes
  • Provide planning and execution of support services to other teams in ensuring that specialist advice is provided
  • Work with the wider team and stakeholders to deliver an integrated solution that delivers on the client’s requirements
  • Ensure a collaborative approach at all times with the client and all key stakeholders

Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications

You will be a degree qualified RAMS professional with equivalent demonstrable experience and relevant years’ experience in RAM and system assurance .

  • Background in Civil Work or Rail Infrastructure projects is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, stakeholder’s client representatives, as required) and establish relationships at all levels.
  • Affiliation with recognized professional body is desirable
  • Ability to promptly investigate RAM related issues and recommend the implementation of corrective actions
