About the opportunity:

Building on our continued success and growth, we are currently hiring for two experienced professionals to join our team in Melbourne as a Requirements Engineer.

The successful candidates will play a key role in drafting and developing railway standards for client organisations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare technical documentation across signalling, rail operations, track & civil and electrical (overhead and substations).

What you will be involved in:

  • Preparing railway requirements for signalling design, maintenance and operations. 
  • Using systems engineering and requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS Next Generation, Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge and the EARS requirements approach.
  • Prepare drafts of the client defined signalling principles standards and critically review and consider inputs/feedback comments from the client and other stakeholders.
  • Provide change proposals for the amendment of existing developed signalling standards.
  • Provide change proposals for the impacted RTO documents as a result of each developed signalling standard.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree (BEng). or equivalent in a relevant subject (Requirements Engineering) or extensive, relevant experience.
  • High quality report writing skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external staff.
  • Ability to translate client needs into working solutions.
  • Experience of using IBM DOORS Next Generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within client provided processes and frameworks.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.

Desirable:

  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Experienced in engineering management in a safety critical industry.
