About the opportunity:

NRC Australia is seeking an experienced Rail Operations professional with a strong background in delivering training packages to join our growing Brisbane based team. In this role, you will work across a diverse, project-driven environment, providing operations support, writing rail operational documents, producing training packages and delivering training.

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent stakeholder management skills, as well as a good understanding of railway operations and the ability to think strategically to define, develop, and deliver learning and training packages for new railway digital systems upgrades.

What you will be involved in:

  • Provide project/technical services (and work alongside other Operations and Maintenance professionals) on rail operations engagements/projects including accountability for relevant aspects of project deliverables and meeting client expectations.
  • Development and delivery of training packages to client requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify their needs and requirements.
  • Proactively finding solutions to deliver the clients desired outcomes.
  • Acting as an interface in the delivery of services and resolution of project issues.
  • Collaborating with other project team members in a proactive and engaging way, ensuring that members adhere to the client’s values, systems, and requirements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with our UK based Operations, Assets and training specialists and those from other Regions and States.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated rail operations experience, including understanding of delivery within a rail safety environment and exposure to ETCS or digital signalling systems.
  • Developing and delivering learning and training packages to clients within the rail environment, with a focus on new systems, upgraded systems and new operational practices.
  • Stakeholder Management – interfacing with clients and finding acceptable and agreeable solutions.
  • Good record keeping and document control – documenting changes, assumptions, issues and using version control methods.
  • Developed report writing and project management skills.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships across a range of client stakeholders.
  • Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications and working with a learning management system.
  • Understanding of working within delivery budgets.

Desirable:

  • Formal training accreditations.
  • Project management experience.
