 What is the role?

Reporting to the Indirect Tax Technical & Advisory Specialist, you will provide administrative, compliance, and technical support to the Tax team, with particular focus on VAT preparation, CIS submissions, and automation inputs. The role provides a development pathway with formal study support in indirect tax (ATT/CTA VAT).

What you’ll do as Junior Technical & Process Support

  • Prepare Group VAT returns for review by the VAT Specialist and Tax Director using automated consolidation tools, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Undertake CIS submissions and reconciliations by maintaining accurate records and schedules, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Support PSA, P11D, and payroll compliance activities through data gathering and coordination, contributing to accurate and timely reporting.
  • Carry out data preparation, reconciliations, and coding checks for tax returns by reviewing financial data and correcting discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.
  • Provide administrative support to the tax team through archiving, filing, and data entry, maintaining organised and accessible records.
  • Assist in documenting tax processes in SharePoint by creating and updating procedural content, ensuring clear audit trails and process transparency.
  • Participate in automation initiatives by testing workflows and supporting implementation, enhancing process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Undertake compliance reviews under supervision (IR35, CIS, VAT) by following structured review procedures, developing technical knowledge and supporting risk mitigation.
  • Assist in analytical reviews of tax submissions by comparing data trends and identifying anomalies, supporting quality assurance.

   What experience do I need?

             Graduate or college leaver, with strong numeracy and analytical skills.

             Willingness to study ATT/CTA with VAT specialism.

             Attention to detail and accuracy.

             Organised, proactive, and able to follow structured processes.

             Enthusiastic and eager to learn.

             Interest in automation and digital tools.

             Team player with good communication skills.
