Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2026, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

 

Salary: £32,163 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working. 

 

Location: Manchester (The role will be based in Manchester; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week) 

 

Introduction: We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and organised individual with strong planning, interpersonal and communications skills to work as part of a small team supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Senior Manager, Operations & Policy, in maintaining an oversight of Arts Council core business, helping to ensure the efficient and effective running of the organisation and the COO Department

 

Role Details: Your work will include the implementation and development of cross-organisational systems to improve consistency of approach, access to up-to-date information and operational oversight (e.g. the project management framework, the programme timeline overview and Verto). You will support the functions of the Operations Management Group (OMG), Senior Manager Operations (SMO) Group, National Directors Team and similar meetings. In addition, you will be supporting the smooth running of the COO Department, maintaining and developing internal systems for planning, risk review and financial monitoring.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can combine a demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise with flexibility and curiosity to contribute to areas beyond your daily responsibilities within the COO’s remit.
