Sports Development Officer

Full-Time 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

Are you passionate about increasing participation in sport and physical activity? Do you have the energy and initiative to engage young people and develop new opportunities across a diverse college environment? We are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual to join our Commercial Sport team as a Sport Development Officer.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting, encouraging, and delivering a varied programme of sport and active leisure activities across our student and staff community. Working closely with the Sport Development Manager, you will establish strong partnerships with National Governing Bodies, community sport organisations, and internal departments to offer a wide range of sporting and volunteering opportunities.

Key responsibilities include coordinating participation programmes, accessing funding opportunities, arranging transport and officials for student sport events, and delivering sport-based activity that contributes to student wellbeing and engagement. You will also play a key role in developing mental health and wellbeing initiatives and supporting key college events such as sports awards and festivals.

You should be educated to degree level, preferably in a sport-related discipline, and hold at least a Level 1 coaching qualification. Experience delivering sport development activities and mental health programmes, alongside excellent organisational skills, is essential. A strong understanding of current sport policy, youth engagement, and college sport structures will be highly beneficial.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, collaborative, and committed to making a difference through sport. Evening and weekend working will be required as part of the role, particularly during events and tournaments.
