Bishop Burton College is looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support its busy Hospitality department. 

Based at our welcoming and vibrant campus, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a high standard of food provision for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves assisting with food preparation and basic cooking, serving meals, snacks and beverages (including alcohol), handling both cash and card transactions at the till, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering and dining areas. You will also be expected to report equipment faults, follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures, and actively contribute to team discussions around service improvement and menu ideas. 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a food or bar environment, with a good level of numeracy and attention to detail. A Food Hygiene Certificate and GCSE Maths (or equivalent) are essential. You should have a clear understanding of safeguarding, particularly in relation to working with children and young people, and be able to form and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Excellent customer service, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are key, alongside a cheerful, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
