Are you an experienced animal care professional with a passion for leadership, education, and animal welfare? Bishop Burton College is looking for a dedicated Animal Management Unit Team Leader to play a key role in the day-to-day management of our thriving Animal Management Unit.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the effective operation of the unit, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, husbandry, and health and safety are maintained at all times. You will lead and coordinate a team of staff, supervise students in a practical setting, and help deliver an engaging learning environment that blends real-world experience with academic study. 

Working closely with the Animal Management Curator and Unit Manager, you will contribute to the smooth running of the unit by allocating workloads, maintaining accurate records, and acting as Duty Manager when required. Your role will be central to supporting students as they develop valuable, industry-relevant skills while working with a diverse range of domestic, exotic, and farm animals.

Support the Next Generation of Scientists at Riseholme College

Are you a science professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to make learning possible? Whether you're currently working in a laboratory, research facility, healthcare setting, pharmaceutical company, food testing laboratory, environmental organisation, agricultural science business, or educational institution, this could be the ideal opportunity to use your technical expertise in a rewarding and varied role.

At Riseholme College, we're looking for a Laboratory Technician to provide high-quality technical and scientific support within our Science Centre. You'll play a vital role in preparing practical sessions, maintaining specialist equipment, supporting teaching staff and ensuring students have access to outstanding learning experiences.

You may currently be working as a Laboratory Technician, Science Technician, Research Assistant, Quality Control Technician, Biomedical Technician, Food Science Technician, Environmental Technician or in another scientific support role where organisation, accuracy and problem-solving are essential.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has a qualification in a science-related subject or relevant laboratory industry experience.
  • Enjoys working with a wide range of scientific equipment and practical resources.
  • Has a strong understanding of laboratory health and safety, including COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards and supporting others to succeed.
  • Is proactive, organised and able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • Enjoys sharing technical knowledge and supporting both staff and students.
